Welcome to Month 2 of my online class program.
This month I will be presenting four new projects which will include lots of different techniques.
Each week you will be able to download a PDF pattern file of the project for that week. You will be able to print this out yourself on A4 paper at home. There will also be a file of step by step photographs of the project. Plus you will be able to watch a video of me demonstrating some of the techniques used to make each project.
Week 1: one of my most popular jelly roll quilts. This one is called “Jelly Nation” and uses only one jelly roll. The centre of the quilt is strip pieced and cross cut to produce Carrie Nation blocks. The blocks can be arranged in various ways to create different secondary designs. Alternatively, you can cut strips from your stash for this project.
Week 2: A Daisy a Day Table Runner. I will be demonstrating all my machine appliqué techniques to make this very pretty runner.
Week 3: Granny’s Garden Folder Cover. I will show you how I cover lots of different shapes using my own English paper piecing techniques. Plus hand appliqué and hand quilting.
Week 4: a brand new design (still in progress), a stitchery cushion featuring a lovely blue bird among flowers. I will make a cushion from this embroidery.
I am passionate about quilting, especially English paper piecing and fine hand applique. My favourite fabrics are reproductions from the 19th century and my style is often inspired by antique quilts.
