Morning Lark Quilt

This soft and pretty quilt was a delight to make. The tumbler shapes have been hand pieced using the “American” piecing technique. Alternatively, these can be machine pieced. The printed pattern can include the perspex tumbler template that I used to rotary cut and mark all of the tumbler shapes for piecing plus the EPP paper shapes.
The middle applique block features a centre circle frame with a delightful design of a bird on a branch of flowers and leaves.
The comprehensive pattern includes very detailed instructions on all the cutting and piecing process. There are many diagrams to guide you through the joining of the tumblers to create a wonderful undulating secondary pattern.
The instructions also detail the English paper piecing techniques used for the flowers and my process of hand applique for the bird on the branch.
I have used a beautiful soft palette of pinks, blues and greens complemented by a gorgeous pink stripe and a floral for the borders.

I am passionate about quilting, especially English paper piecing and fine hand applique. My favourite fabrics are reproductions from the 19th century and my style is often inspired by antique quilts.
