Heartstrings is a fabulous way to utilise favourite fabrics from your stash. My chosen colour scheme of brown, blue, pink, red and tan gives my quilt an antique lacey feel.
The construction method used in the making of this quilt is string piecing on a foundation fabric. This technique is fully explained in my comprehensive pattern.
The beautiful applique heart embellishments on the quilt are fused raw edge applique. They can be blanket stitched by hand or machine, as I have done.
Each set of triangular shaped string pieced segments of the quilt are framed by contrasting fabrics and applique borders. This is one of my favourite quilts, inspired by an antique.
