This stunning bed sized medallion quilt is all machine pieced and machine appliqued.
The comprehensive pattern includes detailed instructions and design sheets for the fused raw edge applique with hand embroidered details. There is a centre rectangular block featuring scrolls, flowers and leaves and a stunning applique border of more scrolls and flowers.
The comprehensive pattern includes detailed instructions and design sheets for the fused raw edge applique with hand embroidered details. There is a centre rectangular block featuring scrolls, flowers and leaves and a stunning applique border of more scrolls and flowers.
The instructions for the various machine pieced blocks include all the cutting, piecing and pressing information with block diagrams. Each block is surrounded by a little border and framed with red sashings.
The piecing instructions utilise specialty rulers to cut half square and quarter square triangles from strips. However, I have added alternate measurements for cutting without these rulers.
Further borders include a pieced checkerboard and three dramatic borders in rich colours of red, brown and gold.
This is a fun quilt to make as it includes a variety of techniques and can be made using lots of fabrics from your stash for the applique and small blocks.
