Columbine Quilt Pattern
Price range: $16.00 through $30.00
My new quilt design was inspired by the mosaics I photographed in a beautiful cathedral in Trieste, Italy. “Columbine” comes from an Italian folk story.
It is a medallion quilt consisting of a lovely centre applique floral block surrounded by scallops, pretty applique blocks and an applique vine and leaf border plus plain sashings and borders.
My original quilt was created using the very beautiful “Wallflower” and “Bellflower Blender” ranges by Tilda. This fabric features the faces of pretty girls amongst flowers. I fussy cut these faces as a feature in the quilt, using them often as a double circle motif throughout the quilt. Of course, choose your own fabric and colours to create a unique look.
My comprehensive pattern includes detailed instructions on all techniques used in the quilt and all of the hand drawn pattern sheets for the applique elements. There is an optional kit of over 140 laser cut paper shapes including all of the leaves, scallops and most of the circles required.
My quilt is a comfortable lap or sofa size and can easily be made larger with the addition of extra pieced or plain borders.
I hope you will enjoy making this delightful quilt.
Finished Size of Quilt is 58” square.

I am passionate about quilting, especially English paper piecing and fine hand applique. My favourite fabrics are reproductions from the 19th century and my style is often inspired by antique quilts.
