This beautiful cushion design was inspired by the flowers of ancient Egypt.
The simple appliqué design is repeated five times in a perfectly balanced arrangement of cream on blue linen. The centre square is bordered by a rich blue floral which also forms a flange around the cushion.
The negative spaces are enhanced by hand quilting echoing the shapes of the repeat pattern of the floral appliqué.
The backing of the cushion is a simple overlap style, embellished with an additional applique full flower.
The comprehensive pattern includes detailed instructions for the applique, quilting and construction process.
I love blue and cream but this design would look stunning in other colour combinations.
Finished size of cushion is 23” square, including the flange.
