Blue Lotus Quilt Pattern

This is a stunning applique design featuring circular rings of lotus flowers, inspired by an ancient Egyptian design on a beautiful piece of ceramic ware.

My quilt is made entirely in blue and cream fabrics but it would look amazing in your favourite monochrome scheme or multiple colours.

The centre of this medallion quilt features six beautiful flowers radiating out from a centre circle shape with flower petals. These flowers are blue on a cream background.  This circle medallion is encased in navy blue fabric featuring a large ring of cream lotus flowers connected by a chain of embroidered stems.

Triple borders beautifully frame the centre.  The next applique border features a series of heart shaped scrolls with seven petalled flowers.

A mid blue floral border follows and then the final border is intricately machine pieced piano keys in navy and cream.

All the applique on this quilt is the fused raw edge technique.  The sample was completely blanket stitched by hand but this can also be stitched by machine, your choice.

Finished  Size of Quilt is 80″ Square.
